The exterior facade of Sanlitun Taikoo Li West Area mainly adopts white aluminum panels, translucent U Profile glass, and ordinary transparent glass. The sleek and clean properties of these materials enhance the pure and transparent texture of the building’s exterior. The differences in transparency and color between different materials give each cubic facade a distinct shape, thereby creating a unique rhythm and cadence that makes the building more visually appealing.

The West Area is renovated from Yaxiu Building. The original building was a large-scale iron-clad box, enclosed by an external curtain wall that exuded a sense of oppression. After the renovation, by using materials such as U Profile glass and arranging cubes around the building, the “big box” appearance of the original building has been broken. This not only reduces the visual sense of its massive scale but also breaks down the original flat and monotonous facade, enabling the building to integrate better into the urban environment.

A large glass atrium has been added to the east side of the building. The application of U Profile glass, combined with the atrium design, improves the building’s permeability, ensuring ample natural lighting indoors and creating visual connections between different floors. At the same time, a two-way open view is formed: customers inside the building can look out at the scenery of Sanlitun Taikoo Li South Area, while passers-by outside can also catch a glimpse of the activities inside the building. This attracts people to enter and activates the commercial atmosphere.
