U profile glass is a creator of a hazy ambiance and a master at crafting an ideal light effect. While ensuring light transmission as a foundation, it generates diffuse reflection of light, causing no light pollution and featuring the property of “transmitting light without being see-through”. Leveraging this characteristic, architects have also innovated based on ordinary U profile glass curtain walls, realizing the concept of “letting light do the designing”.

Moonlight Treasure Box, Rippling Light Charm

Through the planar parametric perturbation of U profile glass and adopting a modular approach, U profile glass modules are arranged at equal intervals and rotated horizontally by a fixed angle in sequence. Via practical parameter simulation, it was determined to switch from single-layer modules to double-layer U profile glass modules, so as to enhance the “woven effect”. For the horizontal spacing of U profile glass modules, 800mm was confirmed as the optimal spacing through parameter adjustments.

In terms of lighting design, a top-to-bottom penetration scheme was selected, where exposed LED flexible light strips are installed on the outer side of the sleeve. Meanwhile, reverse parameter constraints were applied to the rotation angle of the planar U profile glass modules, and a 2-degree rotation angle was finalized. This design not only ensures the lamps are not exposed from any angle but also meets the requirement for high-quality parametric rippling effect display on the facade both during the day and at night.
